Accu Trak Tool
Corp. was incorporated in 1985 in Worcester, Massachusetts
(40 miles west of Boston). In 1990, we moved to a new larger
facility in the nearby town of Leicester (Cherry Valley) ,
Massachusetts, set back into the woods at the top of a hill.
Accu Trak specializes in the
manufacturing of standard and special knurling wheels and
holders. We strive to produce a premium product made from
high grade tool and high speed steels. We have our own vacuum
heat treating furnaces and tempering ovens to insure our
tools are hardened properly to last as long as is feasible.
Most of our inch wheels have an ultra smooth LAPPED tooth
profile for maximizing tool life and producing the smoothest
knurling possible on the workpiece. A variety of coatings
(such as TiN) or surface treatments (such as Ferritic Nitrocarburizing)
can also be applied to any wheels we make to extend tool
life further.
In the early 1990’s, Accu
Trak introduced as standard, off the shelf items, our CONVEX/AXIAL
FEEDING knurls. Our convex knurls,
made of Hi-Cobalt steel with TiN coating, have become the
standard tool to use whenever the application requires the
wheel to move axially to produce a wider/longer knurl pattern.
Please refer to convex knurls for
more information.
We believe we have available
from stock the largest variety of both inch and metric
sized knurling wheels and holders of any single location
in the world. And what is not stocked, with our efficient
production controls, we can manaufacture quicker than anyone
else due to the large variety of ready made blanks we keep
on hand and our huge inventory of a variety of tool steels.
We also frequently make (and keep track of) literally thousands
of over run special wheels from previous orders. When a
custom made wheel with a standard tooth profile is required,
our normal delivery is 1 - 2 weeks. Even faster deliveries
are available with a rush premium.
We always have a knowledgeable
technical person on hand between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST to
offer help with any of your knurling applications and to
guide you to the optimum method of knurling your parts.
